BREADCRUMB

Students acting in Godspell

It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge

Visual and Performing Arts

Our Visual and Performing Arts Department is an integral part of school life. Through our music, theatre, and visual and technical art programs, we empower students to create, innovate, explore, and engage in a love of the arts. At the same time, we help students develop aesthetic literacy while connecting the many commonalities of human existence through a Lasallian worldview.

Our curriculum is both broad and deep and intended for all students - from those with experience to those interested in trying something new. Each of our 28 courses is structured to advance technique and help students grow as artists, creators, and performers. That said, we openly recognize the diversity of learning styles and abilities among our students and provide for these in an atmosphere that is dedicated to developing creativity, confidence, self-discipline, cooperation, a sense of history, and an awareness of contemporary life through the various disciplines employed in the arts.

We also encourage all our students to ask questions, problem-solve, think critically, and engage in meaningful discourse as they evolve their craft.

Outside of the classroom, our students continue the tradition of the Spartan brothers that came before them by performing and competing in a variety of music and theatre productions throughout the school year.
